This digital-only reissue compiles the first five raw Haynes Tapes, containing solo and group improvisations under the auspices of the Reverend Haynes (RIP.) The conditions under which these sessions were documented -- largely untrained musicians improvising on trash instruments under the influence of ever-fluctuating drug cocktails, field-recorded straight to tape without further editing -- make for a delightfully harrowing listen. Only for black noise aficionados.

In remembrance of the Reverend Haynes, village doctor, psycho-analyst, art instigator, poet, zealot, botanist, junkie and father figure. RIP
